Product Description
This device is suitable for measuring the quality of regular household water. Generally, the TDS value of tap water is below 100 ppm, while that of purified water is below 10 ppm.
Common TDS testing tools include TDS pens: they are cheap and easy to use, but cannot transmit data to control systems for long-term online monitoring or water quality analysis. Professional TDS testing instruments, on the other hand, can transmit data with high accuracy but are quite expensive. This Arduino-compatible TDS sensor, however, solves these problems. When connected to an Arduino controller, it can measure water TDS values at a low cost, making it practical and user-friendly.
Designed specifically for Arduino, this product supports plug-and-play and is simple to use. It features a wide voltage supply range of 3.3~5.5V and an analog signal output of 0~2.3V, making it compatible with both 5V and 3.3V control systems. It can be easily connected to existing control systems for immediate use.
The excitation source for measurement uses an AC signal, which effectively prevents probe polarization—extending the probe’s lifespan while enhancing the stability of the output signal. The TDS probe is waterproof and can be immersed in water for long-term measurement. This product is applicable to water quality detection in scenarios such as domestic water use and hydroponics. With this sensor, you can easily DIY a TDS tester.
Usage Notes
1.The TDS probe cannot be used in water with a temperature above 55°C.
2.Do not place the TDS probe too close to the edge of the container, as this may affect measurement accuracy.
3.The probe head and wires of the TDS sensor are waterproof (allowing immersion in water), but the connection interface and signal adapter board are not. Take care to avoid water contact with these parts.
4.TDS sensors are sensitive to temperature; the ambient temperature should preferably be at room temperature (above 25°C) for optimal performance.
5.TDS sensors cannot distinguish specific substances in water—they only measure the concentration of dissolved solids.
