Pins Description
- The DIG1 to DIG4 pins are used for LED segment driving output and can also serve as keyboard scan outputs.
- The SCL and SDA pins are used for clock input and data input/output, respectively.
- KI1 to KI7 pins serve as both LED segment driving outputs and key scan inputs.
- The DP pin serves as an LED segment output and also functions as a keyboard status indicator output.
- The KP and VDD pins are used for logic ground and logic power supply, respectively.
Matters Need To Attention
When using the chip, it is important to note that static electricity can easily accumulate in dry seasons or environments, and electrostatic discharge (ESD) may damage the integrated circuit. Therefore, it is recommended to take all appropriate precautions during use and soldering to protect the circuit from ESD damage.
Instructions
The TM1650 communicates using a 2-wire serial transmission protocol. It recognizes a start signal (START) and a stop signal (STOP). For the start signal, SCL remains high while SDA transitions from high to low. For the stop signal, SCL remains high while SDA transitions from low to high. Data transmission follows a byte format, with the most significant bit (MSB) sent first and the least significant bit (LSB) sent last.
The chip’s control and display commands are configured through specific data command formats. For example, the command for setting brightness must follow a specific MSB and LSB configuration. When reading key data, the timing requires that data be output from the TM1650’s SDA pin on the falling edge of SCL.
For keyboard scan codes, the TM1650 follows a specific encoding rule. For example, A/KI1 is encoded as 44H, representing the key at the first row and first column. When reading key data, a 2K resistor needs to be connected in series between the DIG and KI pins.
