Some microcontroller development boards and devices operate at 3.3V, while others—including certain microcontroller development boards, devices, and sensors—use a 5.0V power supply. This creates a voltage mismatch when these components need to communicate, causing inconvenience for users. This product is specifically designed to address and solve this issue. It enables compatibility between 3.3V and 5.0V devices, acting as a bridging component for their communication. Additionally, it is available in 2-channel, 4-channel, and 8-channel versions, providing users with multiple options for different complexity requirements.

Except for the difference in the types of bits, the other functions and performance standards of the above-mentioned level converters are identical.

(Taking 3.3V and 5V mutual conversion as an example)
  • VCCA connects to the 3.3V power supply of the 4-channel level shifter module;
  • VCCB connects to a 5V power supply (which can be an external 5V power supply);
  • GND connects to the negative terminal of the power supply (shared by both power supplies);
  • When 3.3V TTL levels are input to Ax (of the 4-channel level shifter module), Bx will output 5V TTL levels for the sensor module;
  • When 5V TTL levels are input to Bx (from the 5V electronic module), Ax will output 3.3V TTL levels (for the 2/4/8-channel level shifter module).
  • Conversion Level Range: 1.8V ~ 6V

Mini MAX3232 RS232 to TTL Level Conversion Board Connection Tutorial

The following is the front access diagram of the module. The power supplies on both sides are connected together, so only one side needs to be connected, and the two independent channels on both sides can be used. The arrows indicate the signal flow direction. Inward indicates input, and outward indicates output. The end close to the RS232 characters is at RS232 level, and the end close to the TTL characters is at TTL level.
