Operating Principle

HDC1080 utilizes a factory-calibrated dual sensing element system.Humidity sensing is based on a capacitive principle,where the sensing element on the chip’s surface detects environment humidity changes and converts them into capacitance signals.Temperature sensing leverage the characteristic of semiconductor resistivity varying with temperature to collect temperature signals.Both sensors share the same ADC conversion and OTP(One-Time Programmable)calibration coefficient correction chain.The temperature data is not only directly output but also provides temperature compensation for humidity measurements.Ultimately,by combing configurable resolutions(8/11/14-bit for humidity,11/14-bit for temperature),the device achieves high-precision temperature and humidity data acquisition.
