Description

Engineered for gas leakage detection in both residential and industrial settings, the DIY MQ9 Gas Sensor Module is highly versatile—capable of detecting key gases including LPG, carbon monoxide (CO), and methane (CH4). A core operational trait of this sensor is its conductivity response: as the concentration of target gases increases, the sensor’s conductivity rises proportionally.

The module offers dual output modes to suit diverse application needs: an analog output that dynamically correlates with ambient gas concentration, and a user-friendly digital output for straightforward alert triggering. An onboard potentiometer enables flexible threshold customization, allowing users to set the maximum gas concentration limit that, when exceeded, activates the digital output automatically.

Operation is exceptionally simple: supply the module with a 5V DC power source, adjust the desired concentration threshold via the potentiometer, and it immediately begins detecting and measuring gas levels in its surrounding environment. An integrated LED indicator provides intuitive visual feedback, lighting up promptly whenever target gases are detected.

For seamless integration into electronic projects and systems, the digital output can be easily connected to microcontrollers and various electronic circuits. Meanwhile, the analog output can be linked to a microcontroller’s ADC (Analog-to-Digital Converter), enabling access to a wide range of precise sensor readings for in-depth concentration analysis.
