Description

The optical dust sensor (GP2Y1014AUOF) is very effective in detecting extremely fine particles, such as cigarette smoke, and is commonly used in air purifier systems. In this device, an infrared emitting diode and a phototransistor are arranged diagonally to detect the reflected light from dust particles in the air.

This sensor features very low current consumption (maximum 20 mA, typically 11 mA) and can operate with a supply voltage of up to 7 VDC. The output is an analog voltage proportional to the measured dust concentration, with a sensitivity of 0.5 V per 0.1 mg/m³.

Pin Definition

  • V-LED This is the VCC pin of the LED. Connect this pin to the 5V pin of the Arduino with a 150Ω Current Limiting Resistor.

     

  • LED-GND This is the Ground Pin of the LED. Connect this pin to the Ground pin of the Arduino.

     

  • LED This Pin can be used to toggle the LED On/Off. Connect it to any digital pin of Arduino.

  • S-GND is the ground pin of the pulse Dust Sensor module, and it should be connected to the ground pin of the Arduino.

     

  • VoutThis is the output of the Dust Sensor Module; you can connect it to any analog pins of the Arduino.
